The Phillips Brook Backcountry Recreation Area is a new concept in meeting the need for a place to enjoy non resort recreation in a natural forest setting. The Gateway Yurts located on the River or Ponds are perfect as base camps from which to enjoy trail or water sports. The High Yurts located near the summits of the mountains are great hiking or skiing destinations for access to mountain terrain or hut to hut experiences. South Summit, LLC is carrying on the tradition of Phillips Brook as the pioneer in providing trail based recreation in working forests.  Since 1997 Phillips Brook has become the largest and best yurt based hut system in the East.
